Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Worksheet Bird (“Worksheet Bird,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) makes the Worksheet Bird iOS app, which helps parents and caregivers create printable worksheets for young children. We built the app to be useful with as little personal information as possible. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.
- You can use the app without creating an account or signing in.
- Worksheet prompts and an optional child first name, interests, and age range are sent to our service (and an AI provider) only when you generate a worksheet.
- Child profiles, history, dictation audio, and saved images stay on your device unless a worksheet is generated.
- We collect crash and performance diagnostics to keep the app stable.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple — we never see your payment details.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Worksheet prompts. The text (or dictated speech turned into text) describing the worksheet you want, plus the age range and difficulty you choose.
- Child profile details (optional). A child’s first name, interests, and age range that you enter to personalize worksheets. You may use the app without providing these, and we ask that you do not enter a child’s last name, address, or other sensitive details — they are not needed.
Information collected automatically
- Diagnostics & crash data. If the app crashes, hangs, or runs slowly, we receive technical reports through our error-monitoring provider (Sentry). These can include device model, operating-system version, app version, performance timing, and a snapshot of the on-screen view layout at the time of a crash. We do not intentionally include your worksheet prompts in these reports.
- IP address. When the app contacts our service, your device’s IP address is visible to our servers as part of the normal internet connection. We use it transiently to apply fair-use rate limits (for example, a daily generation limit) and to protect the service from abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
Device permissions you control
- Microphone & Speech Recognition. If you dictate a prompt, audio is processed by Apple’s speech-recognition technology to produce text. The app uses only the resulting text; we do not store your audio or send it to our servers.
- Photos (add-only). If you save a worksheet as an image, the app adds it to your device’s photo library. This is “add-only” access — the app cannot read your existing photos, and saved images are not transmitted to us.
2. What is sent to our service when you generate a worksheet
| Data | Sent? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Worksheet prompt text | Yes | To generate the worksheet you asked for. |
| Age range & difficulty | Yes | To match content to the child’s level. |
| Child first name & interests | Only if you provide them | To add light personal touches to the worksheet. |
| Microphone audio | No | Processed on-device by Apple; only the text is used. |
| Payment / card details | No | Handled entirely by Apple. |
3. How we use information
- To create, render, and deliver the worksheets you request.
- To lightly personalize worksheets when you provide a child’s name or interests.
- To operate the service, enforce fair-use limits, and prevent abuse or fraud.
- To monitor stability and fix crashes, bugs, and performance problems.
- To process and validate subscriptions through Apple.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or to build advertising profiles.
4. How worksheets are generated (AI)
Worksheets are produced with the help of third-party artificial-intelligence models. When you generate a worksheet, your prompt (and any optional personalization you provide) is processed by our backend and by an AI service provider to produce the content. We instruct our providers to process this data only to deliver the service. AI-generated content can contain mistakes, so please review each worksheet before giving it to a child.
5. Service providers we share with
We share limited information with vendors who help us run the app. They may process your information only on our behalf and under contract:
- Cloud hosting & worksheet generation — to run our backend and create worksheets, including an AI model provider (such as Google).
- Error & performance monitoring — Sentry, for crash and diagnostic reports.
- Apple — for App Store distribution and for processing subscriptions and purchases.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
6. Children’s privacy
Worksheet Bird is designed for parents, guardians, teachers, and other adults to create worksheets for children. It is not directed to children, and children are not intended to use the app themselves.
Any information about a child (such as a first name, interests, or age range) is entered by an adult and used only to personalize worksheets. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not require any child information to use the app — you can leave those fields blank. We ask that adults avoid entering a child’s full name or other sensitive details. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data retention
- On your device. Child profiles, worksheet history, cached files, and saved images remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- On our service. Worksheet prompts are processed to fulfill your request and are not used to build a profile of you. We keep limited, non-advertising operational and analytics logs to run, secure, and improve the service.
- Diagnostics. Crash and performance data are retained by our monitoring provider for a limited period to help us fix issues.
8. Your choices and rights
- Provide less. Use the app without entering a child’s name or interests.
- Permissions. Turn the microphone, speech recognition, or photo access on or off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Delete local data. Remove profiles and history within the app, or delete all local data by uninstalling the app.
- Access & deletion requests. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International users
Our service and providers are based in the United States, and information may be processed there. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
